« recherche en art ». Elle poursuit sa vocation en donnant la parole aux artistes dont les projet ont reçu le soutien de la Fédération Wallonie- Bruxelles ; elle le fait aussi par des invitations à des chercheurs et chercheuses, théoriciens et théoriciennes d’horizons plus lointains.
Mais cette persévérance dans la forme ne doit pas masquer deux bouleversements. Le premier, attendu et heureux, tient dans les nouvelles modalités du financement de la recherche artistique par les pouvoirs publics. Cette mission, auparavant confiée à l’asbl Art-R echerche et réalisée sous la forme d’appels à projets, est désormais assumée structurellement par le Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique à travers un Fonds de la Recherche en Art. La revue opère ainsi comme une chambre d’écho des travaux menés sous la bannière du FRA rt. Le cahier central de la revue leur est à nouveau dédié.
Le second événement, inédit et dramatique, tient évidemment dans le surgissement du coronavirus, son développement pandémique et ses conséquences innombrables. Personne, parmi les artistes intervenant dans ces pages, n’a échappé à la série de peines et contraintes qui ont rythmé l’année ; plusieurs ont témoigné de leurs prises de conscience et des remises en question imposées au cours de la recherche par cette épreuve ; d’autres ont fait part de leurs solutions, adaptations, détours, manoeuvres d’évitement.
Les contributions des chercheurs et chercheuses invitées n’abordent ni en direct ni en détail la situation sanitaire, psychologique et socio-économique de 2020. Elles sont le fruit d’entreprises artistiques et spéculatives antérieures à la crise actuelle. Pour la troisième année consécutive, la revue A /R se propose de sonder les pratiques relevant du domaine toujours plus stimulant de la
